COMPANY Energy to Serve Your World SM Docket Nos.: 50-348 NL-08-1863 50-364 U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission ATIN: Document Control Desk Washington, D. C. 20555-0001 Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant Completion of NRC Generic Letter 2004-02 Commitments Ladies and Gentlemen:

By letter dated April 29, 2008, Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) provided the final supplemental response for Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant (FNP) Units 1 and 2, to Generic Letter (GL) 2004-02, "Potential Impact of Debris Blockage on Emergency Recirculation During Design Basis Accidents at Pressurized-Water Reactors," dated September 13, 2004.

The SNC April 29, 2008 letter noted that the only GL 2004-02 commitment remaining was to replace the Unit 2 Safety Injection (SI) throttle valves, which was scheduled to be completed in the Fall 2008 refueling outage, as approved by NRC letter dated August 29,2007.

This letter is to advise that the Unit 2 SI throttle valves were replaced during the Fall 2008 refueling outage as scheduled; all outstanding GL 2004-02 commitments have now been fulfilled for both FNP units.

This letter contains no new NRC commitments. If you have any questions, please advise.
