Contact: Diane Screnci, 610/337-5330 Neil Sheehan, 610/337-5331 December 16, 2008 NOTE TO EDITORS: NRC/PPL MEETING POSTPONED The forecast of inclement weather has caused Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials to postpone tonights meeting with officials of PPL Susquehanna on a license renewal inspection.
We believe its necessary to reschedule the meeting out of concern for the safety of those members of the public wishing to attend, said NRC Region I Administrator Samuel J. Collins.
The public meeting had been scheduled for 6:30 p.m. today at the Eagles Building, 107 S. Market Street, in Berwick, to discuss the findings of an NRC team inspection of the proposed aging-management approach for the Susquehanna nuclear power plant.
The meeting will be rescheduled after the holidays.
