LOCAL OUTREACH INITIATIVE The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is responsible for regulation of the D.C.
Cook nuclear power plant located in Stevensville, MI. We are continuing our outreach activities, meeting with county government officials, mayors, and tribal representatives near the 16 nuclear power plants that we regulate within Region III. We hope to establish a point of contact for you to use in the event you have questions regarding NRC activities in the future, and we will explain the NRCs role and mission. We would also like to tell you about the D.C. Cook Nuclear Plant resident inspector program; security enhancements and other outreach activities that the NRC is conducting that may involve members of the public around the plant.
I would like to meet with you at your office for a brief, informational meeting and plan on contacting you in the next several weeks to establish a date and time. In the meantime, please contact me at (630) 829-9659, or via email at Harral.Logaras@nrc.gov, if you have any questions.
