SUBJECT:
LOCAL OUTREACH INITIATIVE This is to confirm a meeting to brief the Ottawa County Commissioners (including the new member Mr. Mark Stahl) on the NRC Region III Outreach. It was identified at the November 12, 2008, semi-annual briefing on the Davis-Besse nuclear plant that Mr. Stahl was newly elected to the post, and there was an opportunity for briefing on NRC Outreach. Since then it has come to my attention that other members of the Board have not been briefed in this manner and would like to participate.
This is to be a standard Region III Outreach Meeting to explain NRC=s role and mission and establish a point of contact in the event you have questions regarding NRC activities in the future. We would also like to tell you about our resident inspector program, security enhancements and other outreach activities that the NRC is conducting that may involve members of the public around the plant. The meeting is set to be held at the Ottawa County building in Port Clinton, Ohio on January 15, 2009, at 11:00 a. m.
