SUBJECT:

REQUEST FOR LIST OF PLANNED TOPICAL REPORT SUBMITTALS FOR FY2009 AND FY2010

Dear Mr. Marion:

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the topical report (TR) program, we are seeking up-to-date information on the future TR submittals for planning and budgeting purposes. We request that you provide a list of planned submittals for FY2009 and FY2010, those that will be submitted for NRC staff review and those that will be submitted for information only. Additionally, please provide the estimated number of licensed facilities planning to use the approved TR. We request this information by February 15, 2009.

In the future, we will consider the frequency with which to make this request, and we will therefore discuss this topic at a future monthly TR Team public meeting. We anticipate a continuing productive working relationship with you in future endeavors, which this information greatly contributes to. If you have any questions regarding this request, please contact Tanya Mensah at 301-415-3610.

Sincerely,

/RA/

Thomas B. Blount, Deputy Director Division of Policy and Rulemaking Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Project No. 689
