Subject:
Release of the MILDOS-AREA Computer Code The purpose of this letter is to inform you that the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has authorized the release of the computer code MILDOS-AREA Version 3.06 for use by licensees and regulatory agencies. The MILDOS-AREA computer code calculates the radiological dose commitments received by individuals and the general population within an 80-kilometer radius of an operating uranium recovery facility. Under NRC contract, Argonne National Laboratory upgraded the MILDOS-AREA code to allow compatibility with the new PC operating systems and incorporate In Situ Leach uranium recovery technology.
The revised MIDOS-AREA code is available from the Argonne National Laboratory Environmental Assessment Division website at www.evs.anl.gov/mildos.
If you have any questions regarding this correspondence, please contact Mr. Bruce Watson at 301-415-6221.
Sincerely,
/RA/
