import license application (IW024). If approved, the import license will allow one 55-gallon drum containing contaminated metal shavings, rejected parts, and protective clothing and rags to be imported from France.
The waste identified in the import license request resulted from the refurbishment of a reactor coolant pump in France. The reactor coolant pump originally became contaminated through use at the D.C. Cook power plant in Michigan. The pump was
- then to France to be refurbished. AREVA NP Inc. is requesting they be allowed to import the wastes generated as a result of the refurbishment. This waste will be processed at EnergySolutions Bear Creek facility and the resulting waste will be shipped to the Clive, Utah facility for disposal.
