Dear Ms. Plettinger:
Our licensing assistant, Ms. Janet Burkhardt, periodically reviews the River Bend Station, Unit 1 mail distribution list with the objective of reducing the amount of paper mail the Federal government has to generate.
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) now maintains an electronic list server system with a number of lists that the public may subscribe to by completing the form located on our "Subscribe to E-mail Notices" Web page (http://www.nrc.gov/public-involve/listserver.html). In addition, the NRC is distributing publicly available outgoing correspondence on operating nuclear plants via electronic notification by email. Those NRC licensees, stakeholders, and members of the public who have been on NRC distribution lists may now receive documents by email. The list server system includes correspondence on license amendments, relief requests, exemptions, requests for additional information, and public meeting summaries. Subscribers may choose correspondence pertaining to one plant or several plants on the "Operating Reactor Correspondence" Web page (http://www.nrc.gov/public-involve/listserver/plants-by-region.html).
There is no charge for subscribing to any of the lists.
Please write a brief note, addressed to Ms. Janet Burkhardt, U.S. NRC, Mailstop O-8B1, Washington, D.C. 20555, indicating your continued desire, if any, to remain on our paper mail distribution list. Please respond by December 19, 2008. Should you wish your name to be taken off our list, you need take no further action.
