In the Matter of David Geisen: Docket No. IA-05-052; ASLBP No. 06-845-01-EA You Honors This email reports on the status of discussions between counsel for Mr. Geisen and counsel for the NRC Staff.
Since our last report, on September 22, 2008, counsel have engaged in additional discussions but have determined that it is not possible to settle the enforcement case. Accordingly, counsel have begun exploring areas of agreement which could limit the scope of the enforcement hearing. Counsel believe that obtaining agreement on a substantial number of issues could expedite the hearing process. Counsel for Mr. Geisen have expressed a desire to complete the enforcement hearing by the end of 2008. To initiate these discussions, Staff has shared with counsel for Mr. Geisen an initial statement of issues for stipulation.
