CONFIRMATION OF INITIAL OPERATOR LICENSE EXAMINATIONS:
DAVIS-BESSE NUCLEAR POWER STATION
Dear Mr. Allen:
In a letter dated August 4, 2008 (L-08-246), your staff requested we schedule initial license operator examinations during the weeks of July 13, 2009, August 22, 2011, and August 19, 2013.
We have tentatively scheduled the requested examinations to occur during the requested weeks.
On-site validation of these examinations is tentatively scheduled to occur approximately three weeks before the examination week. In the unlikely event that we are unable to support an examination during the scheduled weeks, we will inform you immediately upon discovery of such conditions and make arrangements to administer the examination at a mutually acceptable date.
We understand that your staff will develop the examinations scheduled for August 2011 and August 2013. We have notified your training staff that the NRC will be developing the July 2009 initial license examination. The letter indicated that more than nine applicants were being considered for each of the examinations. Each examination has been scheduled for two weeks to accommodate this number of applicants. If the number of applicants should decrease below ten applicants, please inform us, as this result in a schedule change. Please inform us at your earliest opportunity if you discover you need to change the scheduled date for the examination.
A supplementary letter will be sent to the training department approximately 120 days prior to the initial examination. The letter will inform the training department of the chief examiner=s name, outline examination security expectations, list the materials required by the NRC to conduct the examination, reconfirm the examination dates, and reconfirm the number of candidates you have in the training program.
