SUBJECT:
Meeting Summary for Regulatory Conference (EA-08-197)
On September 16, 2008, representatives of Exelon Generation Company, LLC, the licensee for Byron Station, Units 1 and 2, met with NRC personnel in the Region III office located in Lisle, Illinois, to discuss the apparent violation identified in NRC Inspection Report Number 2008003. The regulatory conference was held at the request of the licensee.
The purpose of the regulatory conference was to discuss the preliminary white finding regarding the inadvertent entry into an unanalyzed orange risk condition at Bryon Station, Unit 2.
The licensee presented a summary of the causes for the apparent violation and the associated corrective actions. The licensee did not present any new information other than the documents already provided to the NRC. The focus of the licensees presentation was that recovery credit should be given for manual actions that could be taken in the event of flooding.
The attendance list and the licensee's presentation are attached to this summary.
Also, a copy of the licensees slides presented during the meeting can be found in Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) ML082620687.
There were no members of the public present at this meeting. In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this summary and its enclosures will be made available to the Public.
