SUBJECT:
REQUEST FOR HEARING WITH RESPECT TO THE LICENSE RENEWAL FOR THE PRAIRIE ISLAND NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2 DOCKET NOS. 50-282 AND 50-306-LR The Office of the Secretary has received via E-Filing a petition to intervene and request for hearing from the Prairie Island Indian Community, dated August 18, 2008. This request was submitted in response to a notice issued by the NRC staff that provided an opportunity for a hearing on the license renewal (LR) for the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant, Units 1 and 2. The notice was published in the Federal Register at 73 Fed. Reg. 34335 (June 17, 2008). The request can be found in ADAMS under accession number ML082401045 and on the Electronic Hearing Docket.
The hearing request is being referred to you for appropriate action in accordance with 10 C.F.R. §2.346(i). This referral is being served on the E-Filing service list for Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant which includes named individuals in the cc: list.
