Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) is the licensed operator of the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant (Farley), the Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant (Hatch), and the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant (Vogtle). By letter dated December 12, 2007, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued NRC Bulletin 2007-01 to holders of operating licenses requesting specific information be provided in accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 50.54(f) regarding administrative and management controls to address security personnel attentiveness. By letter dated February 8, 2008, SNC provided the requested response to NRC Bulletin 2007-01. By letter dated June 27,2008, the NRC requested additional information be provided within 35 days of issuance of the letter to facilitate completion of the staff assessment of SNC's response to NRC Bulletin 2007-01. The SNC response to the NRC request is enclosed.
The enclosed information is considered security-related information associated with physical protection of SNC-operated facilities, as described in 10 CFR 2.390(d)(1). Accordingly, SNC requests that this information be withheld from public disclosure in accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 2.390.
