STAFF REVIEW OF FLORIDA POWER AND LIGHT RESPONSE FOR SEABROOK NUCLEAR POWER STATION TO THE MAY 7, 2008, SECURITY ORDERS ISSUED TO PROPOSED DRY STORAGE AT INDEPENDENT SPENT FUEL STORAGE INSTALLATIONS On June 19, 2008, Florida Power and Light submitted its responses to the May 7, 2008, Order imposing additional safeguards and security compensatory measures for spent fuel storage at Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installations (ISFSIs). Their responses concerned the implementation of security upgrades as directed by the Order and Additional Security Measures (ASMs) for Seabrook Nuclear Power Station ISFSI. These upgrades are now complete. The licensee is tentatively scheduled to have their initial movement of spend nuclear fuel in late July or early August 2008. Based on our review, we have determined that the Seabrook Nuclear Power Station Physical Security Plan has met the performance objectives and general requirements outlined in Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations 73.51 and the ASMs. This will be verified by the conduct of on-site inspections.
