NPF-12 SPECIAL REPORT (SPR) 2008-002 South Carolina Electric & Gas Company (SCE&G) is submitting this report pursuant to the requirements of Technical Specification 3.3.3.1.b. This report addresses the inoperability of the Main Steam Line radiation monitor RM-G19A for greater than 72 hours8.333333e-4 days <br />0.02 hours <br />1.190476e-4 weeks <br />2.7396e-5 months <br />. During the inoperable period of 138 hours0.0016 days <br />0.0383 hours <br />2.281746e-4 weeks <br />5.2509e-5 months <br /> and 15 minutes, V. C. Summer Nuclear Station implemented a preplanned alternate method of monitoring in.

accordance with the requirements of Action 30 of the Technical Specification.

RM-G19A was declared inoperable June 23, 2008 due to a Universal Digital Ratemeter (UDR) failure. The UDR was replaced, and the radiation monitor was returned to operable status on June 29, 2008.
