COLUMBIA GENERATING STATION, DOCKET NOS. 72-35 & 50-397 REGISTRATION OF SPENT FUEL CASK USE

Dear Sir or Madam:

Energy Northwest operates the Columbia Generating Station (Columbia) Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) in accordance with the general license provisions of 10 CFR 72.210. The requirements of 10 CFR 72.212(b)(1)(ii) include the registration of a spent fuel cask within 30 days of using a cask for the storage of spent nuclear fuel. Accordingly, Energy Northwest provides the following registration information associated with the HI-STORM 100 spent fuel cask system placed into storage on the Columbia ISFSI on April 29, 2008.

Columbia Operating License: NPF-21 Cask Certificate: 72-1014-2 Cask Model: HI-STORM 100S MPC Serial Number: MPC-0169 Overpack Serial Number: HI-STORM 100S (243) - 073 Number of Fuel Bundles: 68 Total Cask Systems Stored on the Columbia ISFSI: 23 HI-STORM 100 Casks If you have any questions about this letter or our dry cask handling operations under the general license provisions of 10 CFR 72.210, please contact Mr. Rolly Fuller, ISFSI Project Manager, at (509) 377-4148.
