Dear Mr. Stall:
This refers to the public annual assessment meeting conducted at our request at the FP&L Energy Encounter Building located in Jensen Beach, Florida on April 1, 2008. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the NRCs Reactor Oversight Process (ROP) and the St. Lucie annual assessment of safety performance for the period of January 1, 2007 - December 31, 2007.
Attendees included NRC resident staff, Region II Public Affairs Officer, FP&L staff, and four members of the public. Enclosed is a copy of NRCs St. Lucie annual assessment presentation.
The major topics addressed were: the NRCs assessment program, the results of the St. Lucie Nuclear Plant assessment, and future NRC inspection activities. The meeting was informative and did not result in any specific action items or decisions.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's document system (ADAMS).
