SUMMARY

OF THE APRIL 14, 2008, CATEGORY 3 MEETING WITH THE PUBLIC TO DISCUSS DRAFT REGULATORY GUIDE, DG-5015, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATION OF SECURITY PERSONNEL AT NUCLEAR POWER REACTOR FACILITIES On April 14, 2008, Nuclear Security and Incident Response (NSIR) conducted a Category 3 meeting with industry stakeholders, the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI), and the public to discuss draft regulatory guide developed to support the proposed Part 73 security rulemaking effort regarding the training and qualification plan for security personnel.

The purpose of this meeting focused around stake holders comments and their understanding of the draft guidance, DG-5015 Training and Qualification of Security Personnel at Nuclear Power Reactor Facilities. Open discussions facilitated stake holders understanding of the draft guidance and assisted the NRC staffs understanding of stakeholder comments. This draft guidance can be viewed in the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) (ML073550020) or at www.regulations.gov.

Douglas Huyck, NSIR, welcomed the attendees and Ms. Bonnie Schnetzler, NSIR, presented a brief overview of the draft regulatory guide and opened the meeting to questions and comments from the stakeholders. At 11:30 a.m., when comments subsided, closing remarks were made the meeting adjourned.
