LASALLE COUNTY STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 B NOTICE OF CONSIDERATION OF ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE AND OPPORTUNITY FOR A HEARING (TAC NOS. MD6642 AND MD6643)
Dear Mr. Pardee:
Enclosed for your information is a copy of an Order Imposing Procedures for Access to Sensitive Unclassified Non-Safeguards Information (SUNSI) for contention preparation and a Notice of Consideration of Issuance of Amendment to Facility Operating License and Opportunity for a Hearing. This notice relates to an application for amendment by Exelon Generation Company, LLC, dated August 14, 2007 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML072360042), in which you requested a license amendment to allow ganged rod drive capability of the rod control management system for the LaSalle County Station (LSCS), Units 1 and 2.
The enclosed notice is based on your application and information provided to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff to revise the current licensing basis for Section 15 of the LSCS updated final safety analysis report (UFSAR) to incorporate the description of a new, potential accident into the LSCS UFSAR. This notice has been forwarded to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
