SUMMARY

OF APRIL 8, 2008, ANNUAL ASSESSMENT MEETING WITH ENTERGY NUCLEAR NORTHEAST On April 8, 2008, at 2:00 p.m., an Annual Assessment Meeting was conducted at the Joint News Center located at the Oswego County Airport, Fulton, NY, between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Entergy Nuclear Northeast (Entergy). The NRC requested this meeting to discuss the NRCs annual assessment of the safety performance of the James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant (FitzPatrick), for the calendar year 2007.

The NRC presented and discussed its assessment of the safety performance of FitzPatrick for the period between January 1 through December 31, 2007. The NRC presentation included a discussion of the Reactor Oversight Process (ROP), an overview of national ROP results, and the results of the NRCs performance assessment for FitzPatrick. As part of this meeting, Entergy presented its perspective regarding performance at FitzPatrick and initiatives in selected areas. Members of the public observed the meeting and were offered the opportunity to communicate with the NRC regarding Entergy's performance at FitzPatrick and the role of the agency in ensuring safe plant operations.
