OF THE MARCH 25, 2008, NON-PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS ENTERGYS ASSESSMENT OF THE RESULTS OF THE PALISADES NUCLEAR PLANT FORCE-ON-FORCE EXERCISES AND RECENT SECURITY PERFORMANCE
Dear Mr. Schwarz,
On March 25, 2008, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held a non-public meeting at the Region III Office in Lisle, Illinois. The meeting was between NRC Region III and Entergy Nuclear Operations Inc. management to discuss Entergys assessment of the results of the Palisades Nuclear Plant (PNP) Force-on-Force exercises and recent security performance. The meeting notice can be found in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) as ML080790277. However, because of the security-related information contained in the licensees presentation materials, and in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390, a copy of these presentations will not be available for public inspection. A list of principal NRC and licensee meeting participants can be found in the attached Enclosure.
Mr. Steve West, Director, Division of Reactor Safety, Region III, opened the meeting with introductions of NRC officials, the reason for the meeting and then turned the meeting over to your staff.
Entergy management provided an overview of, and discussed their assessment of the recently completed NRC evaluated Force-on-Force exercises completed at Palisades and recent security performance issues.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's document system
(ADAMS), accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
