This letter provides notice that the Maritime Administration plans to shift the Nuclear Ship SAVANNAH (NSS) from the port complex of Hampton Roads / Norfolk, Virginia to a layberth in the port complex of Baltimore, Maryland.

The NSS will be towed from Pier 6 at BAE Systems in Norfolk, Virginia to Baltimore, Maryland on or about May 8, 2008. Towing of the ship shall be overseen and regulated by the United States Coast Guard Marine Safety Office, Hampton Roads, VA.

The approved Baltimore Port Operating Plan was reviewed and validated in March, 2008.
