April 29, 2008 Mr. Rick A. Muench President and Chief Executive Officer Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation Post Office Box 411 Burlington, KS 66839
SUBJECT:
WOLF CREEK GENERATING STATION - CORRECTION TO AMENDMENT NO. 177 RE: REVISION TO TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 3.7.3, "MAIN FEEDWATER ISOLATION VALVES," TO ADD MAIN FEEDWATER REGULATING VALVES (MFRV) AND MFRV BYPASS VALVES (TAC NO. MD4840)
Dear Mr. Muench:
In our letter to you dated April 3, 2008, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Amendment No. 177 to Facility Operating License No. NPF-42 for the Wolf Creek Generating Station. The amendment consisted of changes to the Technical Specifications (TS), in response to your application dated March 14, 2007 (ET 07-0004), as supplemented by letters dated December 18, 2006, and February 26, 2008 (ET 07-0052 and ET 08-0011, respectively).
Inadvertently, in the amendment, the NRC staff issued incorrect pages for (1) the attachment to License Amendment No. 177 showing the pages to be removed and inserted, where TS page 3.3-34 was not listed; (2) revised TS page 3.7-8, where the acronym "MFIS" is stated in the Applicability instead of the abbreviation "MFIV "; and (3) revised TS page 3.7-11, where two Surveillance Requirements (SRs) 3.7.3.2 are shown. Although TS page 3.3-34 was not listed in the attachment to the amendment, the page and its overleaf page were enclosed in the TS pages to be inserted for this amendment. For TS pages 3.7-8 and 3.7-11, the proposed pages in the application gave the abbreviation "MFIV", and listed SRs 3.7.3.2 and 3.7.3.3 and not two SRs 3.7.3.2, respectively.
Enclosed is a new attachment to License Amendment No. 177 that lists TS page 3.3-34, and contains the TS page 3.3-34 and corrected TS pages 3.7-8 and 3.7-11, and their overleaf pages. We apologize for any problems caused by this mistake.
Sincerely,
/RA/
