April 2, 2008 Mr. Charles G. Pardee Chief Nuclear Officer and Senior Vice President Exelon Generation Company, LLC 200 Exelon Way Kennett Square, PA 19348

SUBJECT:

LIMITED SENIOR REACTOR OPERATOR REQUALIFICATION PROGRAM INSPECTION FOR LIMERICK GENERATING STATION AND PEACH BOTTOM ATOMIC POWER STATION

Dear Mr. Pardee:

In a telephone conversation on March 25, 2008, Mr. Dave Malinowski, License Coordinator, and Mr. Joseph D=Antonio, Senior Operations Engineer, made arrangements for the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to inspect the limited licensed operator requalification program of the Limerick and Peach Bottom facilities. The inspection is planned for the week of June 2, 2008, at the Limerick site. Per discussion with Mr. Tom VanWyen of the Peach Bottom site, documentation for the Peach Bottom program as requested by Mr. D=Antonio will be delivered to Limerick for the inspection. The staff at your facility should prepare and conduct the requalification examinations in accordance with your NRC-approved requalification program.

In accordance with 10 CFR 55.59(c), the NRC may request facility licensees to submit their biennial comprehensive requalification written examinations or annual operating tests as necessary to support the NRC's inspection program needs. In order for the NRC to adequately prepare for this inspection, please furnish for both sites: 1) an index or summary of condition reports related to fuel handling written in the past two years in which licensed operator errors were determined to be the root or contributing cause; 2) a copy of your license operator requalification program instruction, and 3) the examination schedule, sample plan, and operating test scheduled for the week of the inspection to the NRC by May 26, 2008. Mr. Malinowski has been advised of this request and provided with the name and address of the NRC lead inspector assigned to this inspection.
