TEMPORARY INSTRUCTION INSPECTION (NRC INSPECTION

REPORT 05000397/2008006)

Dear Mr. Parrish:

In a telephone conversation on March 5, 2008, Messrs. Fred Schill and John Kirkland made

arrangements for the NRC to inspect the site-specific implementation of B.5.b Phase 2 and 3

mitigating strategies at the Columbia Generating Station. The inspection is planned for the

week of May 5, 2008.

In order for the NRC to adequately prepare for this inspection, please furnish the documents

listed in Enclosure 1 to Mr. John Kirkland in electronic format, if possible, at least two weeks

prior to the planned inspection. Please have available on site at the beginning of the inspection

the arrangements and documents listed in Enclosure 2. Mr. Fred Schill has been advised of this

request and provided with the name and address of the NRC lead inspector and the Office of

Nuclear Reactor Regulation inspector assigned to this inspection.

This letter contains information collections that are subject to the Paperwork Reduction Act of

1995 (44 U.S.C. 3501 et seq.). These information collections were approved by the Office of

Management and Budget, approval number 3150-0018, which expires on June 30, 2009.

The public reporting burden for this collection of information is estimated to average 4 hours4.62963e-5 days <br />0.00111 hours <br />6.613757e-6 weeks <br />1.522e-6 months <br /> per

response, including the time for reviewing instructions, gathering and maintaining the data
