March 13, 2008 Mr. Alexander Marion, Executive Director Nuclear Operations & Engineering Nuclear Energy Institute 1776 I Street, NW, Suite 400 Washington, DC 20006-3708

SUBJECT:

REQUEST FOR PRIORITIZATION OF TOPICAL REPORT REVIEWS AND LIST OF PLANNED TOPICAL REPORT SUBMITTALS FOR FY2008 AND FY2009

Dear Mr. Marion:

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the topical report (TR) program, we are seeking up-to-date information on the future TR submittals for planning and budgeting purposes. We also plan to implement a process to prioritize the reviews of owners' group and vendor TRs. Therefore, we request that you provide a list of planned submittals for FY2008 and FY2009. Additionally, please prioritize, from 1 to N, each of your TRs currently under NRC review, as well as future submittals, and provide the estimated number of reactor sites planning to use the approved TR. We request this information by March 31, 2008.

We look forward to a continuing productive working relationship with you in future endeavors. If you have any questions regarding this request, please contact Tanya M. Mensah on 301-415-3610.

Sincerely,

/RA/
