The Strategic Teaming and Resource Sharing (STARS) nuclear power plants have created a center of business to jointly prepare and support the review of license renewal applications for selected STARS plants. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Regulatory Issue Summary (RIS) 2003-02, "Importance of Giving NRC Advance Notice of Intent to Pursue License Renewal," dated February 3, 2003, requested that licensees provide a voluntary submission of licensees' plans regarding license renewal.
