NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY OF THE FINAL ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT FOR LICENSE RENEWAL OF THE NATIONAL BUREAU OF STANDARDS REACTOR (NUREG-1873) (TAC NO. MC8280)

Dear Dr. Richards:

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has completed the final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for License Renewal of the National Bureau of Standards Reactor operating license TR-5 for an additional 20 years of operation for the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Enclosed is a copy of the final EIS and the associated Federal Register Notice of Availability. This notice advises the public that the final EIS is publicly available at the NRC Public Document Room (PDR) or from the NRC's Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC website at http://adamswebsearch.nrc.gov/dologin.html. The Accession Number for the final EIS is ML072970861. The public comment period ended on September 5, 2007 and no comments were received.
