MILLSTONE POWER STATION, UNIT NO. 2 - NRC RECEIPT OF RESPONSE TO GENERIC LETTER 2006-03, POTENTIALLY NONCONFORMING HEMYC AND MT FIRE BARRIER CONFIGURATIONS (TAC NO. MD1598)
Dear Mr. Christian:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) acknowledges the receipt of your responses dated June 8, 2006, and May 31, 2007, to NRC Generic Letter 2006-03 (GL 2006-03),
Potentially Nonconforming Hemyc and MT Fire Barrier Configurations. The aforementioned documents can be found in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession Nos. ML061590505, ML071520515, and ML053620142, respectively.
You have stated that Millstone Power Station, Unit No. 2, does not rely on either the Hemyc or MT fire barrier system. You have also submitted documentation that 1 or 3-hour fire barriers, other than Hemyc or MT barriers, that separate redundant safe shutdown trains located within the same fire area have been designed and installed in accordance with current NRC guidance.
Based on your response, no further action is requested of you at this time and TAC No.
MD1598 will be closed.
