1. Description of Agency Import & Export Programs 1.1 Agency Mission as it relates to International Trade The NRC Office of International Programs (OIP) provides overall coordination for NRC's international activities. OIP plans, develops and implements programs, in concert with other NRC offices, to carry out policies in the international arena, including export and import licensing responsibilities.

The NRC Export Controls and International Organizations (ECIO) Branch licenses nuclear equipment and material exports and imports. ECIO participates in international nuclear safeguards activities, and recommends policies and coordinates NRC efforts with Executive Branch agencies and other entities.

1.2 Statutes & Regulations related to Agency Import/Export Programs Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as Amended Energy Reorganization Act of 1974 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Act of 1978 10 CFR Part 110 Export and Import of Nuclear Equipment and Material
