The outage to repair a voltage regulator on lasted approximately six and half hours.
Indian Point 2 was unaffected by the shutdown and is operating at full power and has been online for 66 days Entergy Continues Siren Tests in Westchester Entergy plans to activate certain individual sirens in its new Indian Point emergency alert system in Westchester County from May 7 to May 10.
Entergy has selected seven (7) sirens in the new system for this test.
Each test siren will sound twice at full volume for approximately 4 minutes. One sounding will be in the morning between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. The second sounding will occur between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
The sirens selected for this test are located in Croton-on-Hudson, Cortlandt, Yorktown and Buchanan. Public officials, critical facilities, residences and businesses in those areas will be notified of the tests by phone before the sirens sound.
NO RESPONSE ON THE PART OF THE PUBLIC IS NECESSARY DURING THESE SIREN SOUNDINGS.
The new sirens have a sound that is different form the current sirens.
In an actual emergency, all the current sirens would sound at full volume for four minutes.
