Vermont Yankee IBEW Local 300 Workers Ratify New Contract 8-27-2007 - The IBEW Local 300 - Unit 8 membership at Entergy Vermont Yankee voted to ratify a new union contract late this afternoon.
Workers had voted to reject the original contract offer on August 21. The new tentative agreement was reached late Friday evening (8-24) and presented to the membership this afternoon.
"Both sides worked hard to reach a fair, equitable agreement," said General Manager of Plant Operations Bill Maguire. "We are glad the membership accepted the terms of the new contract, which will remain in effect for the next three years."
"The success of Vermont Yankee is the result of good teamwork and a strong foundation of trust and respect," said Maguire. "As we move forward, we will further reinforce the partnership between Entergy Vermont Yankee management and the IBEW. Together, as a team, we will continue the safe, reliable operation of Vermont Yankee as the foundation of all that we do."
