DAILY STAFF NOTES REGION I August 22, 2007 0

Jut of Scope On August 21, the members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 300, voted to reject the proposed contract with Vermont Yankee (Entergy).

Negotiations between the union and Vermont Yankee continue. The next step for the union is to decide whether to again extended their contract, or to vote for a strike. The union has agreed to provide Entergy with a 72-hour notice if a decision to strike is reached. The contract covers Operations, Maintenance and Radiation Protection personnel. Region I is following the progress of the negotiations and is prepared to implement a 24-hour NRC watchbill if a strike occurs.
