On August 1, 2007, members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 300, Unit 8, voted to authorize union leadership to call for a strike if there is no agreement by the time the labor contracts expires at midnight on August 19, 2007.
Entergy was notified earlier this week. We found out today when we discussed NRC access with the local union representative. The union understands that strike personnel should not interfere with NRC representatives (i.e. access to the plant). This won't be an issue.
[However, I did offer if they see an orange mini cooper that would be fair game].
