TELEPHONE CALL LOG REGARDING WISCONSIN STATE REVIEW OF DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT FOR LA CROSSE BOILING WATER REACTOR REQUEST FOR EXEMPTION FROM 10 CFR 74.19 On October 4, 2007, Kristina Banovac, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Project Manager for the La Crosse Boiling Water Reactor (LACBWR), called the Wisconsin State official, Paul Schmidt (Manager, Radiation Protection Section, Bureau of Environmental and Occupational Health, Division of Public Health, Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services, 608-267-4792). Ms. Banovac left a voice message describing LACBWRs request for exemption from certain requirements of 10 CFR 74.19. She explained that NRC staff completed a draft environmental assessment supporting its review of the exemption request and asked whether the State wanted to review it.
On October 8, 2007, Mr. Schmidt left a message noting that the State did not wish to review and comment on the draft environmental assessment.
