USNRC Letter dated March 17,2006 from George Pangburn to Westinghouse Electric Company, titled Westinghouse Electric Company, LLC and Viacom Inc., Case 16V 192 0093702, American Arbitration Association; NRC File No. TR-04-12 MLObo3503.30

Subject:

Request for Meeting to Discuss Transfer of TR Facility to SNM-770 License

Dear Mr. Holian:

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC requests an early meeting with members of the NRC staff to discuss plans to expedite the implementation of the Path Forward which is an attachment to the referenced USNRC letter. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss approaches to expedite the transfer of the residual radioactive material associated with the TR facility, currently licensed under License Number TR-2 which is held by CBS Corporation, to License Number SNM-770 held by Westinghouse.

Such transfer of the residual radioactive material will result in a single licensee responsible for the entire Waltz Mill site and permit efficient unified decision making for the entire site. It will also remove any potential harrier to the transfer of the SNM-770 license for the entire Waltz Mill site to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania should it assume regulatory authority as an Agreement State.

In addition to Westinghouse personnel, it is anticipated that appropriate CBS personnel would he present for the meeting. Your timely attention to this request would be appreciated. Westinghouse believes that the transfer of the TR facility in the near term would he in the interest of all parties involved.
