This refers to your application dated August 23, 2007, for an approval of a route from the Naval Weapons Station, Charleston, South Carolina, to Savannah River Site, Aiken, South Carolina.

Route: Naval Weapons Station to Savannah River Site By application dated August 23, 2007, NAC International requested an approval of a route to transport spent fuel from Naval Weapons Station, Charleston, South Carolina, to Savannah River Site, Aiken, South Carolina. This request identifies additional information needed by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff in connection with its review of the application. This request describes information needed by the staff for it to complete its review of the application and to determine whether the applicant has demonstrated compliance with regulatory requirements.

Verify and re-submit the safe haven information provided along the proposed route from Naval Weapons Station to Savannah River Site.
The safe haven information provided along the proposed route contains incorrect mile marker numbers. The safe haven information ensures that local law enforcement assistance is available while the spent fuel shipment is in transit in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 73.37.
