OF AUGUST 10, 2007, CATEGORY 1 WORKING-LEVEL MEETING WITH PPL TO DISCUSS PRE-AUDIT PREPARATIONS REGARDING ANTICIPATED TRANSIENT WITHOUT SCRAM (ATWS)

AND LONG-TERM STABILITY SOLUTION IMPLEMENTATION On August 10, 2007, a public meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), and representatives of PPL, at NRC Headquarters, Two White Flint North, 11545 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss (1)

PPLs implementation status of the Long-Term Stability Solution, (2) emergency operating procedures (EOPs) and stability mitigation actions as it relates to ATWS, and (3) the effects of a proposed constant pressure power uprate on ATWS and EOPs. The meeting was requested by the NRC staff in preparation for, and in support of, their scheduled September 17-18, 2007, generic audit on ATWS/Long-Term Stability.

There were no members of the public in attendance, and no public meeting feedback forms were received. Enclosure 1 is a list of meeting attendees and Enclosure 2 is a copy of the licensees slides presented at the meeting (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML072560065).
