Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attention: Document Control Desk One White Flint North 11555 Rockville Pike Rockville MD 20852-2738 South Texas Project Unit 2 Docket No. STN 50-499 Reactor Vessel Radiation Surveillance Program - STP Unit 2 Pursuant to 10 CFR 50 Appendix H, Section IV, STP Nuclear Operating Company (STPNOC) submits the enclosed WCAP-16093, "Analysis of Capsule U from South Texas Project Nuclear Operating Company, South Texas Unit 2 Reactor Vessel Radiation Surveillance Program,"
dated June 2003. WCAP-16093 presents the results of the examination of Capsule U, which' was removed from the South Texas Project Unit 2 reactor in the continuing surveillance program for monitoring the effects of neutron irradiation on the Unit 2 reactor pressure vessel materials under actual operating conditions.
This report was originally due by November 2003 in accordance with 10 CFR 50, Appendix H, Section lilA.
This date was missed due to an oversight. Future irradiation sample analysis reports will be submitted to the NRC within one year of sample removal, as required by 10 CFR 50, Appendix H. This is being tracked under the station Corrective Action program.
