Dear Commissioners,

The rules for emergency sheltering allow that evacuees , including children , may be taken to centers just over the 10 mile evacuation line. This leads to ludicrous results.

After the 1979 accident, I stayed in Harrisburg in an apartment where the ten mile evacuation line bisected the living room. I can see where this ten mile requirement may lead to some very bizarre results, such as children being evacuated across a street or to a neighbor's house.

I respectfully suggest that the NRC look to the reasonable and well thought out petition of the citizen's in the TMI area as to the requirements that need be placed on the evacuation of children in the case of an accident such as the one at TMI#2 back in 1979.
