Dear Mr. Crane:
In a telephone conversation on July 5, 2007, between Mr. M. Bielby and Mr. C. Moore, NRC Examiners, and Mr. S. Gackstetter, Operations Training, arrangements were made for the administration of licensing examinations at the Byron Station the weeks of May 19 and May 26, 2008. In addition, the NRC will make an examination validation visit to your facility the week of April 28, 2008.
The NRC will prepare the examinations based on the guidelines in Revision 9 of NUREG-1021, "Operator Licensing Examination Standards for Power Reactors." Your staff will be given the opportunity to review the examinations during the week of April 7, 2008.
To meet the above schedule, it will be necessary for your staff to furnish the reference materials identified in Attachment 2 to ES-201 by August 30, 2007. We request that any personal, proprietary, sensitive unclassified, or safeguards information in your response be contained in a separate enclosure and appropriately marked. Any delay in receiving the required reference materials, or the submittal of inadequate or incomplete materials, may cause the examinations to be rescheduled.
