Request For Procedure Review - Protection of Safeguards Information GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH) recently responded (Reference 1) to NRC Order EA-07-159. The purpose of this letter is to provide additional information related to that response in support of the future transmittal of Safeguards Information (SGI) to GEH.

GEH requests that NRC review the GEH program for the protection of SGI related to reactor design, which has been updated subsequent to our Reference 2 transmittal. This program is described in Engineering Operating Procedure 60-7.00 (Enclosure 1), and is applied at our Wilmington, North Carolina, and our San Jose, California facilities. In addition, it is noted that we have scheduled an internal audit of SGI program implementation.

This audit will address activities at both facilities, and will be completed within 30 days of the date of this letter. The audit report will then be issued in accordance GEH quality programs. contains Security-Related information identified by the designation "Security-Related Information - Withhold from Public Disclosure." GEH hereby requests this information be withheld from public disclosure in accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 2.390. A public version of this document is not available.
