FORTHCOMING PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING FOR THE NRCSTAFF TO DISCUSS THE LICENSE RENEWAL PROCESS FOR VOGTLE ELECTRIC GENERATING PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2, APPLICATION REVIEW DATE AND TIME: Tuesday, August 21, 2007 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. LOCATION: Augusta Technical College Waynesboro/Burke CampusWaynesboro Auditorium 216 Hwy 24 South Waynesboro, GA 30830 PURPOSE: The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) received a licenserenewal application (LRA) from Southern Nuclear Operating Company, Inc., dated June 28, 2007, for the renewal of the operating licenses for the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant, Units 1 and 2. The purpose of the meeting is for the NRC staff to provide information describing the license renewal process and how the public can participate. The agenda for the meeting is attached.
