1. License Amendment Request (LAR) for Miscellaneous Technical Specification (TS) Improvements, dated August 14, 2006, Accession Number ML062270248.

In Reference 1, Nuclear Management Company, LLC (NMC) submitted an LAR to revise the TS for the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant (PINGP) Units 1 and 2 to make miscellaneous improvements, including changes in TS 3.7.10, "Control Room Special Ventilation System (CRSVS)". NMC submits this supplement in accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 50.90.

The Reference 1 LAR proposed to revise Surveillance Requirement (SR) 3.7.10.4 to verify each CRSVS train delivers the required flow "through the associated CRSVS filter". The purpose of this SR is to verify performance of the fans. The NRC Staff expressed concern that the use of singular "filter" may not adequately describe the system design since each CRSVS train consists of a prefilter, high efficiency particulate air filter and an activated charcoal adsorber section. For clarification, this supplement revises the proposed SR to verify each CRSVS train delivers the required flow "through the associated CRSVS filters". The specific TS wording is provided in Enclosure 1 to this letter.

The supplemental information provided in this letter does not impact the conclusions of the Determination of No Significant Hazards Consideration and Environmental Assessment presented in the August 14, 2006 submittal.

In accordance with 10 CFR 50.91, NMC is notifying the State of Minnesota of this LAR by transmitting a copy of this letter and enclosure to the designated State Official.

Please address any comments or questions regarding this LAR supplement to Mr. Dale Vincent, P.E., at 1-651-388-1 121.
