Transmittal of Final Director's Decision in Response to Petition Under 10 CFR 2.206 Regarding Dry Cask Storage Facility at Palisades
Dear Mr. Lodge,
On April 4, 2006, you submitted a petition under 10 CFR 2.206 requesting enforcement action by the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) against the Palisades Nuclear Plant regarding the use of the two concrete storage pads at the onsite independent spent fuel storage installation (ISFSI). On November 28, 2006, the NRC fowarded the proposed
-Director's Decision to you for comment. By email dated February 2, 2007, you provided comments on the proposed Director's Decision.
The NRC staff has considered your comments in the preparation of the final Director's Decision, which is enclosed. The Director has denied your request, as explained in the attached documents. Also enclosed are the transmittal letter, a memorandum documenting the staffs response to your comments, and the Federal Register Notice announcing the Director's Decision. All of these documents will also be mailed to you.
Please call me or reply to this email to confirm that you have received the final Director's Decision. I will also attempt to reach you by telephone.
