CLOSURE OF INVESTIGATIONS OI 4-2006-025 & OI 4-2006-035
Dear Mr. Naslund:
This refers to two investigations conducted by the NRC Office of Investigations (OI) regarding activities at the Callaway Nuclear Plant. OI initiated the first investigation to determine whether a control room supervisor was willfully inattentive to duty and whether Callaway management willfully failed to take appropriate corrective actions regarding the alleged inattentiveness. OI also initiated the second investigation to determine whether a control room shift supervisor was subjected to discrimination for having raised the concerns related to alleged inattentiveness.
Based on the evidence developed during the investigations, these concerns were not substantiated. The NRC plans no further action related to these issues and considers these investigations closed.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's document system (ADAMS).
