VERMONT YANKEE NUCLEAR POWER STATION LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION MARCH 14, 2007 The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) and representatives of Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc., held a telephone conference call on March 14, 2007, to discuss and clarify the following issues concerning the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station license renewal application.
RAI 3.6.2.2-N-08-2 and 3.6.2.2-N-08-4 Response clarification In its letter, dated March 12, 2007, the applicant submitted clarifications to responses to RAI 3.6.2.2-N-08-2 and RAI 3.6.2.2-N-08-4. The staff reviewed the information in the letter and had issues the applicant needed to address.
Discussion: Based on the discussion with the applicant, the staff indicated that the response to this RAI requires clarification. The applicant agreed to remove the exception taken against the Non-Environmental Qualification Inaccessible Medium-Voltage Cable Program. The exception was not applicable.
In Table 3.6.2-1, a B was stated in the Notes column for the medium-voltage cables. B denotes that things are consistent with NUREG-1801 with exceptions. The exception stated was not applicable, therefore the table must change accordingly.
Commitment #43 of the applicants license renewal commitment list contained three options.
Two of those were not applicable.
