SUMMARY

OF THE MARCH 28, 2007, PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS THE POINT BEACH END-OF-CYCLE PLANT PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT On March 28, 2007, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held a public meeting at the Two Creeks Town Hall in Two Creeks, Wisconsin. The meeting was between NRC Region III management and Nuclear Management Company representatives to discuss the NRCs End-of-Cycle Assessment of the Point Beach Nuclear Power Plant's safety performance and the recent decision to return the Point Beach plant to normal NRC oversight. The meeting notice and NRC presentations can be found in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) as ML070670191, ML070940318, respectively. A list of principal NRC and licensee meeting participants is attached to this letter.

The NRC began the meeting with an overview of the NRCs Reactor Oversight Program (ROP),

national ROP results, and the Action Matrix in general. This was followed by a discussion of the NRCs assessment of the Point Beach plants performance in calendar year 2006, which was documented in the March 2, 2007, end-of-cycle assessment letter. Following the NRC, the licensee made a brief presentation in response to the NRCs assessment.

Before adjourning the meeting, the NRC provided the opportunity for members of the public to ask questions.
