Subject:

Application for Order and Conforming License Amendment for License Transfer; Supplemental Information Palisades Nuclear Power Plant Docket Number 50-255 License Number DPR-20 By letter dated August 3 1,2006, Consumers Energy Company (Consumers), Nuclear Management Company, LLC (NMC), Entergy Nuclear Palisades, LLC (Entergy Nuclear Palisades), and Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. (ENO), requested the transfer of the Palisades Nuclear Plant (Palisades) Facility Operating License DPR-20 from Consumers and NMC to Entergy Nuclear Palisades to possess and own, and E N 0 to possess, use or operate Palisades.

In Section II(K) of the Application, it is stated that $250 million for decommissioning funding would be provided through a transfer of assets from Consumers' Qualified Decommissioning Trust funds. Subsequently, it was decided that the assets may come from another source. The NRC is being notified because the source of funding may be different than what was described in the August 3 1,2006, submittal. However, in no event would the amount transferred be less than

$250 million.

Document Control Desk Page 2 As described in the August 3 1,2006, submittal, the funding mechanism proposed by Entergy Nuclear Palisades and E N 0 satisfies the requirements of 10 CFR 50.75. The potential change to the source of funding does not affect this conclusion.

Sincerely, Counsel for Entergy Nuclear Palisades, LLC and Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc.
