NORTH ANNA POWER STATION UNIT 2 ASME SECTION XI INSERVICE INSPECTION PROGRAM WITHDRAWAL OF REVISED RELIEF REQUEST - CMP-020 R1 PARTIAL EXAMINATION OF REACTOR PRESSURE VESSEL HEAD-TO-FLANGE WELDS In a January 9, 2007 letter (Serial No. 06-1083)) Dominion submitted a revision to relief request (CMP-020). This revision requested relief from certain requirements of ASME Section XI Code associated with the examination of the reactor pressure vessel head-to-flange weld where only partial coverage was obtained. The NRC staff approved the original relief in a November 13, 2003 letter (TAC MB7515). Based on a March 14, 2007 phone call with the NRC staff to discuss the ASME Code examination and frequency requirements, Dominion is withdrawing the revised relief request. Dominion intends to separately submit an associated relief request pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55a.(g)(5)(iii) to address the Unit 2 reactor pressure vessel head-to-flange weld examination extent and frequency.
